Mom’s Morning Out

Welcome to all of the new and returning families who are sending children to Mom’s Morning Out. This month begins out 30th year of ministry as we continue to reach out into our community and beyond to share God’s love.

We have a very busy year ahead filled with field trips and special visitors, learning, and fun. This month, we will visit Bellinger’s Apple Orchard, play games, do some crafts, learn some colors and shapes, as well as learn how to be a class by taking turns, sharing, and learning a new routine. Continue to keep Mom’s Morning Out in prayer as we begin a new school year and reach out to new and returning families.

CHILDREN AND WORSHIP TRAINING

We have a great need in our worship centers at this time. We need worship leaders! While it’s terrific that our program has grown over the years and we are able to sustain two worship centers, we need adults to help lead the worship time for the kids. Please pray about how you can help and if this might be one of your gifts.

There is a Synod sponsored training in February, but if we can get enough interested adults, Betsy will do the training at our church. With more adults participating as worship leaders, a person would only expect to miss worship once every four to six weeks.

Please consider your gifts for this ministry. If you have any questions or would like to see a children’s worship service in progress, please see Betsy W.at church or contact her at home.

 Children and Worship/Following Jesus

Our Children and Worship and Following Jesus programs will start up on Sunday, September 9th during the 11:00am worship service, following the Children’s Message.

Both Children and Worship and Following Jesus are worship services for children using 3 dimensional wood figures to tell the stories of God. The worship opens with singing, followed by one of God’s stories, and an art response. Next, is a Bible reading that goes with the story and a time of prayer. The service ends with a feast and a blessing.

A new change this year will be a sign-up sheet for worship assistants. The worship assistants must be junior high age (5th-8th grade) to assist the worship leader in Children and Worship center while Senior High age (9th-12th grade) students and adults may assist in either Worship Center.

Mrs. Westman will oversee the sign up sheet and everyone must sign up through her. This will give everyone a fair chance to assist. If you have never seen the program, sign up to be an assistant or drop in and worship.

There will also be a worship assistant meeting right after church on September 9th in the library. All assistants who expect to be in the Worship centers this year are encouraged to attend so guidelines and expectations can be reviewed.

If you wish to be a worship assistant, have any questions, or wish to be trained as a worship leader, please contact Betsy W.

The Children's Worship Center is located on the 4th floor of the Cussler Center.  Please pick up your child following the Worship service.
